Why Automation Doesn't Make Your Business Sound Robotic

Automation doesn't make your wedding business sound robotic. Bad automation does.

Hey Reader,

Happy Tuesday!

This week I finally figured out how to make one of those fancy iced coffees with my Nespresso machine. After a little Googling (and some experimentation), I ended up with a protein iced coffee that was so good I'm already looking forward to tomorrow morning's cup. (I sprinkled it with a little cinnamon... it's SOOOOO GOOD!!)

It reminded me that sometimes the smallest tweaks make the biggest difference.

Now let’s get into this week’s WOW ⤵️

W - Work Less

I recently had the opportunity to join the Mind Your Wedding Business podcast to talk about a topic I hear all the time:

"I don't want automation to make my business sound robotic."

Here's the thing:

Automation doesn't sound robotic.

Bad automation does.

Your clients don't care whether you manually typed every email.

They care whether they feel supported.

Do they know what happens next?

Do they receive information when they need it?

Do they feel confident working with you?

The best systems don't replace relationships. They create consistency so you can focus on the moments that matter most.

I expanded on this idea in a new blog post inspired by the episode.

O - OPTIMIZE - THIS WEEK'S 15 MINUTE FIX

One of the most common issues I see when reviewing client workflows is information overload.

A lead inquires and receives:

  • A welcome message
  • Investment information
  • Portfolio links
  • Social media links
  • Multiple calls to action
  • Three different next steps

Before long, they're overwhelmed.

A confused mind rarely takes action.

Especially engaged couples who are already making dozens of decisions.

Take a fresh look at your lead follow-up email this week and ask yourself:

What's the one thing I want them to do next?

If that answer isn't crystal clear, simplifying the email may improve your client experience more than adding another automation.

W - WHAT'S ON MY MIND

If you're wondering whether your client experience is helping clients feel supported (or leaving them guessing), my Client Experience Systems Audit can help.

Together, we'll review your lead flow, emails, workflows, forms, and client journey to identify gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities to create a smoother experience.

And no, you don't need Dubsado, HoneyBook, or any other CRM to benefit from an audit.

Whether your systems live in a CRM, spreadsheets, your inbox, or mostly in your head, we'll uncover what's working and what could be improved.

Have a great week,

P.S. If you've mastered the perfect protein iced coffee recipe, I'd love to hear your favorite additions. Cinnamon was a winner over here.

Got a friend who could use this? Feel free to forward it to them!
