Can I be honest? The first time I opened the new board view on the Projects page in Dubsado 3.0, my brain said:
“Absolutely not. Put it back.”
I was so comfortable with the old layout. I could find what I wanted without thinking, and suddenly everything looked so much busier and overwhelming. The board view was closer to the old Dubsado projects view but still was different.
So if you opened 3.0 and felt your stomach drop, you’re not alone.
But here’s the twist: After spending real time in it, I really like it.
Let me walk you through what’s messing with my head — and what I’m already loving.
✦ First: Yes, it looks different. And no, you're not the only one who's feeling it.
The new Projects page feels unfamiliar because it is unfamiliar.
Things moved. Things look cleaner. Things require a tiny bit of “Where the heck is that now?” And honestly? That’s annoying.
I’m giving myself grace (and you should too). Some days I don’t have the bandwidth to relearn a whole interface, so I hop back to 2.0. Other days, I make myself spend time in 3.0 so it starts to click.
It’s a process.
✦ But once you get past the shock… the customization is a HUGE win.
This is where Dubsado really delivered. In the new Projects page, you can:
Switch between Board View (hello, Notion vibes!) and Table View
Hide anything that feels like visual clutter
Curate exactly what information you want to see
Toggle quickly between filtered statuses
Control how simple or detailed your projects look
When I realized this, everything changed.
✦ Here’s what I landed on:
🔹 Board View = my new home
It gives me that clean pipeline feeling without overwhelming me once I hide the extras.
🔹 Table View is a place I go when I want to see a list view
I have more things showing. I chose not to view projects in any grouping. It's just a list of clients in alphabetical order. I can quickly scan through to see information and hop back to board view when I'm done.
🔹 The Cards?
Whew. That is A LOT. Too much information for me when I’m just trying to scan or find a project quickly.
So I pared mine way down.
What I keep visible:
Project name
Contract
Workflow
Everything else? Hidden. I can click into the project to see everything about it. And suddenly the entire layout felt calm again.
If you haven’t customized your views, do that ASAP — it makes a world of difference.

✦ A tiny bug (or quirk?) but a quick fix.
When I view all statuses, they’re showing up mixed and out of order.
BUT… If I toggle to “Leads only,” everything displays exactly the way it should.
So for now, I’m just toggling between views. (Early versions of a rebuild always have little things like this — not worried. Plus, it helps me think about my leads separately, and then I can review jobs.)
✦ What I love most: fewer clicks + faster load times
Once you get used to the layout, 3.0 actually reduces the number of clicks. Everything loads lightning-fast. And you’re not locked into one rigid pipeline view anymore — you can switch perspectives based on what you need that day.
For me? That flexibility is a massive upgrade.
✦ If you’re overwhelmed, here’s my advice:
Start by hiding most fields
Pick either Board or Table View — don’t try to love both immediately
Give yourself a week or two to relearn the new layout
It’s okay to hop back to 2.0 when your brain is fried
Spend at least a little time in 3.0 daily so the new rhythm starts to feel normal
This update is big. It’s going to take a minute. And that’s perfectly okay.
If you want me to send a walkthrough of how I customized my Projects page, reply and tell me:
“Show me your setup, Amy.”
I’m happy to share what’s working.
Hit reply and let me know... Are you all in on Dubsado 3.0, somewhere in between like me, or clinging to 2.0 like it's a security blanket? (No judgment... I'm not going to lie... whenever I click back to 2.0 it feels like home.)
Cheering you on!
Amy
